OperationsThe Project Materials Planner is responsible for monitoring and executing material plans and providing clear material readiness forecasts and reporting. This role ensures alignment between project schedules, material availability, and customer requirements by coordinating closely with Shop Operations, Scheduling, Engineering, Procurement, and the Product Line. Acting as the central planning interface, the role proactively identifies and mitigates material, schedule and supply chain constraints to maintain planning integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

Roles & Responsibilities

Quality
- Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford's Management System
- Maintain service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement
Operations
- Develop and maintain detailed material demand plans aligned with project schedules, engineering BOMs, and customer delivery requirements
- Provide material delivery forecasts to project controls and support schedule updates
- Ensure material availability aligns with shop execution/schedule needs and provide material readiness status to Schedulers, Shop Supervisors, and Project Managers
- Engage with Procurement to monitor order progress, resolve issues, and accelerate deliveries when required
- Review and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy, completeness, and material specifications. Ensure updated BOMs are incorporated into planning and procurement systems
- Coordinate with Engineering, Shop Operations and Procurement to ensure early visibility of material requirements and design changes
- Coordinate with Procurement, Supply Chain and Category Management to initiate RFQs, POs, and sourcing of materials
- Identify material shortages, delays, and quality holds and coordinate timely resolutions; escalate critical risks with recommended actions
- Act on MRP/DRP messages daily as they become available for processing; evaluate overdue, aging and critical orders and adjust plans as needed
- Create and release work orders to the workshop after clearing shortages
- Identify and track long lead items, specialty components, and critical path materials to ensure supply continuity. Implement mitigation plans for long lead items that are on or near critical path
- Monitor material cost performance against budget and recommend improvements to reduce lead times and supply chain risk
- Generate material status reports, shortage lists, and KPI dashboards
- Maintain accurate system data and ensure planning integrity across the project lifecycle
- Schedule new sales orders upon assessing material and capacity availability
- Ensure that work order plan complies with customer quality requirements, including Third Party Inspection (TPI) and witness hold points
- Action expedites/defers/cancels requests and communicate feedback to Order Management
- Serve as the primary interface across Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Shop, Quality, and Logistics
Communication
- Maintain effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external
Financial
- All employees have an accountability to the organisation to be financially responsible whether they oversee a function budget or simply their own expenses
- Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure

Experience & Education
- 4+ years of experience of projects execution of manufactured equipment (preferably oil and gas equipment)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience in project planning, MRP/ERP systems to assess demand and supply plans for materials and shop activities
- Experience with performing transactions in ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards and/or Oracle)
- Skilled in materials planning coordination for multiple projects and delivering accurate status reports
- Experience with scheduling tools (MS Projects, Primavera, etc.)
- Planning and Forecasting
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Experience with JD Edwards and/or Oracle
