What You Can Expect
ENGIE Supply & Energy Management (S&EM) is responsible for managing the portfolio of electricity, natural gas, environmental products, and bulk commodities for ENGIE and its external clients, on an international level. The Risk team within S&EM is responsible for the measurement, control, and reporting of all market-based activities as well as the strategic management of risk capital across these activities, notably the trading & portfolio management activities of ENGIE Energy Marketing, the B2B Retail Supply organization and the Renewable Assets owned by ENGIE North America.
As a senior member of the Supply & Energy Management (S&EM) Risk & Finance Group, you will report to the Portfolio Analysis Director and will provide expert analytical, strategic, and market insight to evaluate portfolio risk and support front-office activities within defined risk mandates. This role is pivotal in shaping risk management frameworks and supporting commercial decision-making across ENGIE's North American portfolio.

Salary Range: $135,000 - $206,885 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.

This role is pivotal in shaping risk management frameworks and supporting commercial decision-making across ENGIE's North American portfolio.
- Develop and enhance advanced tools, methodologies, and reporting systems for pricing, risk assessment, and mark-to-market valuation of complex commercial transactions, including structured power and gas deals, HRCOs, Gas Storage, Weather Derivatives, and BESS co-optimization
- Design and implement robust risk evaluation methods, including disaggregation of risks in PPA contracts and bespoke transaction structures
- Conduct economic value-added (EVA) analyses to support origination, structuring, and optimization activities across GEMS and other business units
- Build and maintain stress scenario frameworks to assess portfolio resilience under evolving market and regulatory conditions
- Track, analyze, and synthesize actionable intelligence on ISO and power market developments (ERCOT, PJM, SPP, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE), regulatory changes, and their impact on commodity risk positions
- Evaluate and quantify risk exposures in renewable assets, retail supply books, and integrated portfolios, leveraging benchmarking and competitive assessments
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and expertise centers to share knowledge, support business development, and provide strategic guidance on market fundamentals, renewable energy trends, and PPA pricing opportunities
- Develop and defend actionable recommendations to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with ENGIE's risk appetite and strategic objectives
- Be equally adept as an individual contributor or in cross-functional team settings. Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of analytical rigor and continuous improvement
What You'll Bring
- A minimum of 4-years Bachelor's degree with minimum 10 years of work experience
- Experience in or familiarity with competitive energy markets with exposure to renewables; understanding risks in structured transactions; and demonstrated skills in analytics and valuations
- Knowledge of financial derivatives, commodity markets (power, gas, environmental products), a portfolio approach to valuation, where assets sit within an integrated value chain, and regulatory frameworks
- Working proficiency in data analysis and modeling tools (Excel/VBA, SQL, Python, R, ETRM systems)
- Resourceful with ability to use a variety of tools, data sources, and systems; inherent curiosity to procure and test new resources
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex analyses and defend recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional projects and stakeholder engagement
- Analytical profile, ability to provide precise and solid insights, identify causes and conditions, structure action plans, and propose and defend those to the leadership
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy and limited oversight.
- Team player comfortable operating in matrixed structure and managing stakeholder expectations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to develop cogent reasoning to defend analyses and perspectives

- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; 3 days working in the office, and 2 days working from home
