Job Description:

The Wells Support Lead is accountable for providing comprehensive support across engineering and operations for all well delivery activities. This role ensures seamless coordination between technical teams, government authorities, and external partners to enable timely approvals and compliance with regulatory requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to HSSE in all activities by actively participating in Self Verification Process and department safety meetings.
  • Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to ensure alignment on well delivery objectives.
  • Provide liaison with SKK MIGAS, MIGAS, and other Government of Indonesia institutions to expedite approval processes.
  • Work closely, assist, and support Wells PSCM to develop, expedite, and secure tender plans and contract approvals in SKK MIGAS.
  • Involve, assist, and support Work Program & Budget (WP&B) preparation and meetings.
  • Involve, assist, and expedite obtaining Master List/Formalities and drilling-related permits (e.g., Marine Clearance, Security Clearance, and Letter of Obligation on the rig site).
  • Coordinate and support Business License & Permit Engineer in securing explosive-related permits.
  • Support AFE process from planning, execution, AFE revisions as required, and close-out process.
  • Support well planning and execution processes, ensuring alignment to company standards and industry guidelines.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff for development and improvement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all well delivery activities.

Key Outcomes & Accountabilities:

Regulatory Approvals Secured On Time

  • All SKK MIGAS, MIGAS, and government approvals (tender plans, contracts, permits, Master List, Marine/Security Clearances, explosive permits) are obtained within agreed timelines, ensuring zero delays to well delivery schedule.

Work Program & Budget (WP&B) Delivered Accurately

  • Complete and accurate WP&B submissions prepared and approved on schedule, meeting SKK MIGAS requirements and company standards.

AFE Lifecycle Managed Effectively

  • All AFEs (initial, revisions, close-out) are processed accurately and closed within target cycle time, with cost tracking aligned to approved budgets.

Well Delivery Readiness Achieved

  • All materials, services, and permits required for drilling and completion operations are confirmed ready before spud, ensuring no operational downtime due to readiness gaps.

HSSE Engagement Demonstrated

  • Active participation in SOCs and safety meetings documented; zero HSSE non-compliance incidents attributable to support activities.

Continuous Improvement Implemented

  • At least 1 improvement initiatives delivered annually as Wells Aspac SPA representative, with measurable impact on efficiency, cost, or compliance.

Cost Optimization Realized

  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, achieving agreed cost reduction targets without compromising safety or quality

Accurate Reporting & Documentation

  • 100% compliance with documentation standards for regulatory submissions, AFE records, lessons learned, and operational reports; dashboards delivered on time with validated data

Knowledge Sharing & Staff Development

  • Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions; mentor junior staff with detailed development plans and progress.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field).
  • Strong background in the oil & gas industry, preferably in wells engineering, completions engineering, or drilling operations.
  • Previous experience in service companies or operator-side wells functions is strongly preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influential communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with government bodies and partners.
  • High ethics, integrity, and personal accountability.
  • Strong HSSE attitude with active participation in safety and compliance activities.
  • High professionalism in challenging situations.
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and documentation capabilities.
  • Accurate reporting skills and strong attention to documentation standards.
