Overview

PROTRANS BC is the private operator of the Canada Line, a 19-km automated rail-based rapid transit system connecting Downtown Vancouver with central Richmond and the Vancouver International Airport. We are located in Richmond, British Columbia.

The Student Engineer will provide support to the in-house engineering department by taking ownership of and acting as a project manager for an assigned in-house system development projects. Additional duties include management and maintenance of the engineering drawing database, and assisting in other engineering projects as necessary.

Your role

• Enhance and maintain the Engineering Tracker using Power Apps and Power BI.
• Provide engineering support.
• Manage the engineering drawings database in SharePoint.
• Update and re-issue redlined CAD drawings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

About you

• Enrolled in an Engineering Bachelor's Degree program from a recognized university, with completion of at least two years (Mechanical, Electrical or Physics preferred).
• Experience with AutoCAD (2D drawings).
• Experience with MS Office Suite.
• Experience in Excel VBA.
• Effective communications skills.
• Time management and decision making skills.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Excellent interpersonal, troubleshooting and planning skills.
• Familiarity with SharePoint a plus.
• A combination of education and experience will also be considered.
