What's the role

As an Associate Functional Analyst for SAP IS-OIL, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality functional designs for Projects and Change Requests, working closely with key stakeholders to develop detailed Functional Specifications, guide the Build Team from an application-development standpoint, and perform testing and validation of solutions. You will be accountable for ensuring that all IT deliverables effectively address business requirements, adhere to agreed timelines, and meet the highest standards of quality, ultimately contributing to reliable, efficient, and value-driven technology support for the organization.

What you'll be doing

• Drive clarification of complex and analytical requirements from a technical solution‑design perspective and provide accurate effort estimates for proposed solutions.
• Leverage knowledge assets and senior stakeholder guidance to ensure the delivery of appropriate and effective solutions.
• Create and update Functional Specifications aligned with technical design requirements.
• Develop solution designs for reports, interfaces, enhancements, and forms.
• Participate in blueprint and design sessions, evaluate solution options, and clearly communicate benefits, risks, and constraints to business and IT stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with Design Leads and Application Delivery Leads to ensure new capabilities and business requirements are fully understood and incorporated into delivery items.
• Support the resolution of production issues by working with the Support Organization and contributing to root-cause analysis.
• Perform prototyping to validate requirements or address technical design questions.
• Write test scripts, execute unit and integration testing, and support regression testing activities.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects during test cycles and post-go‑live support.
• Develop runbooks and participate in peer reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Read and interpret data object definitions to support design and troubleshooting activities.
• Manage batch jobs using scheduling and processing tools.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery that maximizes customer satisfaction.

What you bring

• 3-5 years of proven functional configuration experience in SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.
• At least 3 years of hands-on expertise in SAP IS-OIL Downstream.
• Strong track record in Functional Design and Solution Delivery.
• Proficiency in Transportation & Distribution, including Master Data and Transportation Planning.
• Skilled in Shipments and Shipment Costing processes.
• Experience in Standard SD, TAS & TPI relevancy, and working with complex interfaces/RIEF.
• Broad knowledge of key SAP IS-OIL processes, including contracts (customer and vendor), quotes, pricing, quantity conversions, hydrocarbon product management, exchanges and netting, logical inventory adjustments, TSW ticketing and nominations, excise duty, stock reconciliation and valuation, logistics invoice verification, and workflow.
• Basic ABAP debugging skills and ability to interpret technical code.
• Strong capability in requirements gathering and documentation from a technical solution perspective.
• Highly organized and methodical, able to plan and deliver effectively despite uncertainties and risks.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain oversight across all functional activities.
• Experience working on projects involving IT, application, and data components.
• Effective team player with experience collaborating in virtual, global teams.
• Fast learner who can work independently with minimal guidance.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Flexibility in working hours to collaborate with global virtual teams.
