Demand Planning Lead

Job Purpose
The Demand Planning Lead will be responsible for the development, approval, quality and accuracy of the SKU/unit level forecast for all products under multiple product lines within each Segment. This role will partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to deliver accurate forecasts that represent the best thinking from all key stakeholders. The Demand Planning Lead will report to the Global Planning Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Track and analyze forecast variance / bias and update forecasts to continually improve forecast accuracy.
• Develops New Product Forecasts with other functions.
• Identify best practices and improvement opportunities.
• Balance supply with demand for the product line and identify constraints (rough-cut capacity planning).
• Responsible for all demand/supply planning process for multiple product lines within a segment, including corresponding KPI's.
• Manage opportunities to improve inventory redeployments.
• Work with manufacturing facilities to improve operational measures including OTD, Past Due, Lead Time etc.
• Maintains safety and service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business.
• Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company policies and procedures, relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry practices.
• Collaborate with key internal and external partners to document changes / overrides, assumptions and inputs for Sales and Operations Planning meetings. Add internal and external intelligence to the forecast such as impact of media, trade and consumer promotions, product launches and discontinuations, price changes, and competitive activity.
• Works closely with Marketing, Account Planning, Operations and Replenishment to deliver accurate demand forecasts.
• Present / review key changes in monthly meetings, highlighting significant impacts to Supply Chain and Financial projections.
• Contribute to enhancements of demand planning systems, which includes participating in requirements definition, performing system checks and tests and developing reports. Ensures forecasting processes and methods are followed and updated as needed.
• Influence teams to adopt problem solving methodologies to identify root causes and improve processes within the department and cross functional programs.
• Develops scenarios and "what-if" analyses in conjunction with other functions as required.
Experience & Education
REQUIRED
• Bachelor's degree in business, industrial management, supply chain or other relevant fields.
• Minimum of ten years' experience in demand planning / inventory management roles.
PREFERRED
• Advanced Degree.
• Supply Chain experience within OIL & GAS, automobile or advanced manufacturing industry.
• CPIM CERTIFICATION

• Excellent communication skills, inclusive of verbal, written and formal presentations.
