About the role
As a Senior People Relations Specialist, you work closely with the Regional People Relations Manager to help build and deliver strategy across the region. You play a hands-on role in managing employee and industrial relations activities, supporting the organisation to operate compliantly, thoughtfully, and with a long-term perspective.
You bring solid expertise in Employee Relations and Industrial Relations, combined with the ability to manage processes and collaborate with multiple partners. You act as a trusted point of contact for sophisticated people relations matters and help build capability across HR and the wider business.

About the role
As a Senior People Relations Specialist, you work closely with the Regional People Relations Manager to help build and deliver strategy across the region. You play a hands-on role in managing employee and industrial relations activities, supporting the organisation to operate compliantly, thoughtfully, and with a long-term perspective.
You bring solid expertise in Employee Relations and Industrial Relations, combined with the ability to manage processes and collaborate with multiple partners. You act as a trusted point of contact for sophisticated people relations matters and help build capability across HR and the wider business.
What you'll do
Employee & Industrial Relations
- Support the execution of the regional ER/IR strategy.
- Independently manage employee and industrial relations cases, including grievances, disciplinary processes, and consultation matters, in close collaboration with the central ER Advisory team in Budapest.
- Advise HR Business Partners and business leaders on complex employee relations topics.
- Prepare insights, risk assessments, and scenarios for critical issues.
Negotiations & consultation
- Prepare and support negotiations with employee representative bodies and trade unions, including collective labour agreements and social plans.
- Provide content and process support for consultation and negotiation processes, such as documentation, Q&A materials, and communication support.
- Coordinate works council consultation processes, ensuring the right partners are involved at the right time.
Works council & partner management
- Support the People Relations Manager in handling works council processes across the countries in scope.
- Collaborate with HR, Legal, Reward, and business partners to meet consultation obligations accurately and on time.
- Contribute to improving consultation and employee participation practices, including during group policy rollouts.
Change & organisational development
- Support organisational changes such as reorganisations, harmonisation initiatives, acquisitions, and divestments.
- Identify employee risks related to change initiatives and advise on mitigation measures.
- Contribute to workforce analyses and insights related to employee relations trends and issue risks.
Capability & tooling
- Create and implement practical tools, policies, and training for HR leaders.
- Support knowledge sharing and capability building within People Relations and HR Business Partner teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and ways of working.
- Keep internal policy documentation accurate and up to date.
What you bring
Education & experience
- A degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience in Employee Relations or HR partnering.
- Worked with councils and consultation processes
- Traded unions and collective negotiations
- Looked in to Sophisticated employee relations cases and organisational change
Knowledge & skills
- Solid knowledge of employment and labour law in the Netherlands; broader EU experience is a plus.
- Ability to analyse situations, assess risks, and support informed decision-making.
- Experience working with multiple partners in an international environment.
- Fluency in Dutch and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
