Superintendent - Well

Location: Tripoli, Libya

Job Summary:
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the execution of well programs, including drilling, completion, and workover operations, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. Acting as the primary point of contact for Wellsite Supervisors, the Superintendent coordinates communications between the wellsite, Product Lines (PLs), and third-party contractors to optimize resources and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Leadership:
  
  • Manage day-to-day well program execution and monitor operational progress against planned objectives.
  • Participate in pre-job planning/kickoff meetings with PLs, contractors, and customers to ensure shared understanding of program objectives.
  • Review operational issues, support incident response and recovery, and implement program changes as needed.
  • Attend the rig site for critical wellsite activities and consolidate lessons learned for future campaigns.
• Health, Safety, and Quality:
  
  • Drive continuous improvement of HSE processes, identifying and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Conduct regular QHSE and rig audits alongside the QHSE Coordinator.
  • Demonstrate leadership in QHSE practices and ensure compliance with Schlumberger policies, Integrated PL standards, and standing orders.
  • Validate project deliverables and ensure quality process improvement for final acceptance.
• Resource Management & Planning:
  
  • Forecast medium- and long-term resource requirements to meet operational program needs.
  • Coordinate operational activities of PLs and third parties to ensure efficiency and service quality.
  • Manage operational budgets and ensure cost control relative to the project budget.
  • Support the selection and evaluation of service companies, suppliers, and equipment.
• Team Development:
  
  • Provide proper training, mentoring, and development for Wellsite Supervisors and personnel under direct supervision.
  • Foster knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering (or a related engineering discipline such as Mechanical or Chemical Engineering) is required.
• Proven experience in well program execution (drilling, completion, and workover).
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing teams and third-party contractors.
• Demonstrated commitment to HSE and quality standards.
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in challenging environments, including rig sites.
