Job Description:

This will support the delivery of an enhanced customer experience and drive innovation by building global capabilities at scale, using technology, and developing deep expertise. The BTC will be a core and connected part of our business, bringing together colleagues who report into their respective part of C&P, working together with other functions across bp. Summary:

The Planning Manager - Americas Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the planning, coordination, and execution of supply chain and logistics operations at the multiple manufacturing sites. This role ensures that materials, goods, and services are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time to meet business objectives. The manager will lead cross-functional teams, develop strategic plans, and implement standard methodologies to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.

Shift hours:

US shift (6:30 pm to 3:30 am IST)

What you will deliver (responsibilities)

Operations Planning:

  • Develop and manage production plans to align with business forecasts and customer demand.
  • Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams to ensure accurate planning and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and adjust plans to respond to changing market conditions, supply disruptions, internal constraints and network optimization.
  • Identify capacity constraints and proactively propose solutions to balance supply and demand.

Logistics Management:

  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Oversee inventory control and order fulfillment to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers.
  • Implement and monitor logistics KPIs such as on-time delivery, transportation cost per unit, and warehouse utilization.
  • Ensure compliance in support of all safety, quality, financial and security protocols.

Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization:

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production and minimize carrying costs.
  • Implement inventory control systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
  • Establish inventory policies and safety stock levels to balance service levels with working capital efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inventory reviews and cycle counts to ensure data accuracy and minimize obsolescence.
  • Work closely with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions and lead risk mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and support strategic sourcing initiatives.

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Cross-functional project team leadership for manufacturing growth
  • Apply modeling and costing tools to support CAPEX projects and new equipment start ups
  • Develop and present KPIs and performance metrics to senior leadership to include Scheduling Adherence, Production & Blend Schedule Adherence, Supplier Performance, In Full on Time shipments, Inventory Accuracy. Warehouse utilization, SLOBs
  • Use data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare reports on cost savings, service levels, and operational performance.

What you will need to be successful (experience, job requirements & qualifications)

Education:

Bachelor of Science or equivalent required - preferably in supply chain, operations, or related field - master's degree a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 -12 years Supply Chain experience in a logistics environment; industrial engineering, operations management, process improvement or similar in warehouse or transportation environment
  • Substantial experience in supply planning / master production scheduling, capacity planning (RCCP) & inventory management
  • Well-developed knowledge of transportation logistics principles
  • SAP expert level experience and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required.
  • A strong understanding of supply chain and manufacturing environments is a must for this position.
  • Possesses strong cross-functional leadership capability and willingness to work out their areas of responsibility as the business needs may dictate.
  • Succeeds at influencing a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
  • The ability to lead with a continuous improvement mindset and a restless dissatisfaction with the status quo.
  • Strong management skills that not only foster an environment of team success but individual accomplishments as well
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in the area of responsibility and location
  • Demonstrated skill and ability to train others in all aspects of logistics and supply chain planning

  • Working with plant Staff & Hourly personnel on day-to-day operations/planning.
  • SAP experience

You will work with

Supply chain planning team for your Performance Unit, co-located in BTC & FBT, and with manufacturing site planning team members in the Americas PU.
