Wood is recruiting an Offshore Materials & Documentation Planner to join its Operations team focusing on the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This opportunity is offshore Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Role
The Materials & Documentation Planner will track, load, unload, order, organize, and distribute project related materials. They will work to ensure that materials are available and accessible when required and will work under immediate supervision, as part of a team.

Wood is recruiting an Offshore Materials & Documentation Planner to join its Operations team focusing on the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This opportunity is offshore Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Role
- Location: Offshore Newfoundland and Labrador
- Site / Office based: Hibernia
- Hours of work: 12 hours per day
- Rotation / work pattern: 21 days on, 21 days off
- Required: Site-specific medical, drug and alcohol testing
- Unionized position: Rates follow the Collective Bargaining Agreement

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all company and site-specific safety rules, and work within the Company's Safety Program
- Read and interpret instructions and documentation to plan work activities. Prioritizing tasks to meet the overall needs of the project. Expedite the flow of materials to certain areas when required
- Review production schedules and related information. Communicate with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material needs
- Requisition material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to priorities and material availability
- Load and unload materials, using safe work practices and acceptable rigging procedures
- Coordinate and prioritize containers for loading onto offshore vessels
- Receive, inspect, and document materials upon arrival on the platform
- Plan, stage and coordinate materials and equipment for day to day activities as well as turnarounds and planned outages
- Conduct weekly inventory audits and manage regular stock and consumable orders
- Monitor product shelf life and ensure compliance with expiry requirements
- Manage backloading activities and track all inbound and outbound
- Ensure tools and equipment are sent for inspection and re-certification in accordance with requirements
- Order, receive, and track personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Update and track maintenance workorder status to ensure timely execution
- Conduct weekly maintenance material requirement review in collaboration with the maintenance team
- Understand and follow customer material specifications
- Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications
- Track and record materials movement, accounting for all project related material. Utilizing computer programs for accurate tracking
- Record and communicate materials deliveries. Accounting for overages, shortages and damages
- Move materials to required location, utilizing equipment when required
QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
- Relevant experience in materials handling and coordination is required
- Familiarity and knowledge of common materials used under a variety of trade disciplines is required
- Ability to understand project schedules and communicate with project management regarding potential materials related issues
- Must have the ability to use SAP for management of materials, work orders, and maintenance tracking
- Computer experience: Microsoft Excel and other functions of Microsoft Office Suite are required. Other project management software, such as Imperium, Convero and Oracle are not required but considered to be an asset
Training Requirements:
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (Air and Marine) IMDG
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (Air) IATA
- Basic Survival Training (BST) including HUET and HUEBA
- Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) Alive
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015)
- Offshore Safety Regulatory Awareness
- Fall Protection
- Confined Space Entry
- Standard First Aid
- Other Client Specific Training as required
- All Role Specific Training as defined in the CAPP Guidelines
Physical Requirements
- Must pass a site-specific drug and alcohol test, as required by the customer
- Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
- Able to move and work in confined spaces, following proper protocol
- Will be required consistently to work 12hour shifts performing physical labour in varying temperature extremes and conditions
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance on stairs, ladders, scaffolds and steel framework, utilizing proper fall arrest procedures when required. Able to safely and comfortably work at heights without posing a danger to oneself or others
- Able to meet physical requirements of frequent walking, climbing, standing, bending, twisting and crawling for the duration of the shift
