We are currently seeking a Study Manager, to join our Genesis India team, and this position will be directly reporting to Delivery Manager or Country Head, Genesis India.

About the mission we offer you:

The Study Manager is the leader of multi-disciplinary feasibility, prefeasibility, conceptual, Pre-Feed and front-end engineering studies for the energy industry. Acting as the main contact on technical and commercial matters, the Study Manager ensures safe and efficient execution of assigned projects or studies, while supporting and leading proposals as required. This role also ensures compliance with contractual obligations, meeting Client and Company safety, quality, and technical requirements within established budget and schedule constraints.

Qualifications / Skills:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with extensive experience with broad industry exposure and strategic understanding across multiple disciplines in feasibility, prefeasibility, conceptual, Pre-Feed and front-end engineering studies for the energy industry.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry or similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good understanding of sectors such as Oil & Gas (upstream, midstream, downstream production units), refinery operations, fertilizer operations (preferred).
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams to deliver strategic objectives such as Net Zero, digital transformation, and AI-enabled operational excellence.
  • Experience in CCUS, Green & Blue Hydrogen/Ammonia projects or studies.
  • Experience in early engagement, feasibility, and conceptual studies in the energy industry.
  • Experience facilitating concept identification and selection workshops as part of feasibility studies.
  • Chartership or professional accreditation (preferred).
  • Advanced SME-level knowledge in one or two specialist subject areas.
  • Advanced communicator and strategic leader with a proven ability to manage large teams and multiple projects, deliver complex insights through reports and presentations, solve high-level technical challenges, make impactful decisions, maintain strong commercial and client awareness, plan and deploy resources effectively, and exemplify core values with agility to drive organizational success.

About you:

  • Responsible for successful study/project execution and management of change; ensures purchase orders and variation orders are in place to cover all work completed for the Client.
  • Identify future opportunities with current clients; build strong client relationships and improve their understanding of drivers and challenges.
  • Support Head of Country with business development campaigns to grow and diversify market footprint and client base; maintain awareness of competitor capabilities.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals in line with client and company expectations.
  • Work with operational teams (consultants, engineers, designers) to ensure agreed project Gross Profit targets are met.
  • Deliver projects in compliance with internal and/or client processes; accountable for service quality, assessed via client feedback.
  • Ensure project profitability is executed as per proposal commitments.
  • Collaborate closely with Delivery Manager / Country Head on mobilization and demobilization requirements to maximize utilization.
  • Provide monthly reporting and forecast updates for ongoing projects.
  • Provide leadership and line reporting to consultants and engineers, ensuring strong engagement and motivation.
  • Collaborate with People & Culture teams to proactively develop and retain talent.
  • Drive global collaboration to continuously improve and simplify processes and tools, with a focus on digitalization.
  • Communicate project deliverables and recommendations through written/oral presentations and technical reports.
  • Lead the design of engineering systems pertinent to the study requirements and coordinate all discipline personnel involved.
  • Provide technical advisory expertise and act as a responsible consultant for specialist work scopes across multiple projects.
  • Perform design calculations and assist in engineering and field development studies.
  • Run proprietary or in-house developed software to support study execution.
  • Conduct engineering studies into alternative technologies and evaluate field development options.
  • Prepare and check enquiry/purchase requisitions and evaluate bids.
  • Ensure QA/QC compliance by monitoring execution of work, documentation quality, and adherence to standards.
  • Participate in project safety activities when required.
  • Accountable for technical content, quality, and delivery of all discipline deliverables within schedule and budget.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary study/project environment requiring strong communication with other discipline engineers and organizational management.
  • May be assigned to other engineering projects/studies based on specific competencies and skills.
  • Promote the team both internally and externally.
  • Support cost and schedule estimates for decision support packages.
