General Job Description, Expectations & Conditions:
  • Drilling and Well Work department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Engineer to support our drilling, well work and rigless operations.
  • The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring all equipment, services, and operational activities comply with API, ISO, and internal quality standards—driving safe, reliable, and efficient well delivery.
  • Assigned to Project for a period of 12 months.
  • Written / Spoken English proficiency is mandatory.
  • Spoken Mandarin is preferred
  • Demonstrate a track record of actively mentoring both local staff and contractors (ideally in Iraq) in QA / QC activities.
  • Demonstrate an ability to effectively engage, influence, and gain the confidence of leadership & team members to achieve partnership objectives.
  • Actively participate in both field and office-based activities to assist multiple ongoing activities.
  • Department QA/QC focal point and Subject Matter Expert for the department.
  • Conduct rig site inspections, audits, and surveillance of drilling equipment and operations.
  • Verify compliance with API and ISO quality standards across wells and drilling activities.
  • Witness and coordinate pressure testing, NDT, calibration, and certification of drilling equipment.
  • Manage non-conformances (NCRs) and ensure robust corrective/preventive actions.
  • Maintain strong documentation and ensure readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and operational integrity.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the ongoing SSHE culture.
  • Medically fit and active (will be subject to rigorous FTW examination).

Expected:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Industrial Engineering, Trade Served or similar.
  • Minimum 10 years QA/QC experience in the oil & gas drilling industry (land or offshore).

Solid knowledge of:
  • API Spec Q1 / API RP standards
  • ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Drilling equipment certification and inspection requirements
  • Experience with NDT techniques, welding codes, and inspection methodologies.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and audit skills.
  • Ability to work in a field-based, multicultural environment.

Skills:
  • Detail oriented
  • Mentoring skills - coaching of local staff will be a requisite
  • Project Management skills - demonstrated ability to achieve results by managing and coordinating across functional and operational teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of the operating and construction characteristics of all components in the drilling, workover rig and rigless systems.
  • Ability to function in a team environment.
  • Organizing skills - setting and monitoring own schedule.
  • Min. Computer skills - Microsoft Office word, power point, and excel.
  • Ability to identify and implement new technology to reduce cost & add value to existing processes.
