Job Description
Role Overview
- Support investigations of thermoplastics and related systems for aerospace use.
- Analysis of destructive and non-destructive material test data; present results.
- Translate findings into recommendations for design/manufacturing.
- Collaborate with engineering teams; follow relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Define thesis scope, milestones, and deliverables.
- Support material characterization (e.g., DSC, DMA, TGA, tensile, microscopy).
- Contribute to develop test methods; ensure data quality and repeatability.
- Analyze performance under aerospace-relevant conditions.
- Document results and present to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Current MSc student in Materials Science/Engineering.
- Proficient in material analysis techniques and data interpretation.
- Low Environmental Impact Materials and Processes.
- Strong communication; self-driven and collaborative.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge on novel material development and characterization, material sciences, experimental and analytical skills, and electric systems.
- Icing Protection System Technology development.
- Knowledge of polymers/thermoplastics, spray coatings and structure-property relationships.
- Advanced functional polymers.
- Materials characterization, e.g. polymers.
- Materials Laboratory experience, e.g. density measurements.
