Huawei's Ohm Research Center (Nuremberg) is responsible for Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning.

The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within the Huawei's Ohm Research Center (Nuremberg) is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Huawei Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.

Charging Test and Commissioning Intern (m/f/d)

Your mission
  • Double-pulse testing and thermal testing of power semiconductor devices
  • Electrical and thermal performance testing of magnetic devices, fuses and other passive components
  • Building simulation models of ACDC converters and completing electrical performance simulation
  • Electrical and thermal performance testing of ACDC converters
  • Compile reports and documentation for R&D activities
  • Assist in the construction and management of the laboratory
  • Assist in conducting the charging demonstration and testing work

Your areas of expertise
  • Currently pursuing a Master of Science (MSc) or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Experience with power electronic converter analysis, design and knowledge of circuit simulation tools, such as PLECS
  • Good theoretical understanding of power electronic converters and applications of power semiconductor devices
  • Previous experience with hardware implementation is a big advantage
  • Experience in laboratory construction, management and testing work is a strong plus
  • Interest in power electronics, high level of motivation and self-reliance working style
  • Willingness to learn and quickly adapt to new topics
  • Very good English language skills, in written and spoken. Proficiency in German would be a plus
