Job Description:

Role synopsis

The Senior Finance & Commercial Analyst role reports to the Finance Director Indonesia, primarily responsible for implementing the bp group's insurance strategy in the bp upstream assets in Indonesia, in compliance with the relevant contractual and regulations requirements, by way of working closely with bp central Insurance and Risk Management team in London, regional finance team, SKK Migas, and the local and international insurance industry. The role also provides an opportunity for candidates to develop commercial analysis skills and external stakeholder management such as JV partners and SKK Migas. The position requires candidates to have a self-starter attitude, be highly motivated and be able to manage conflicting priorities.

The role is based in the Arkadia Jakarta office and includes some travel to offsite locations.

Key accountabilities

  • Provide relevant, and timely advice to BP Berau Ltd on insurable risk management with support from the central Insurance and Risk Management team.
  • Ensure compliance of bp upstream assets in Indonesia in the areas of compulsory and contractually required insurance, including in its procurement, reporting, and claims.
  • Work with the central Insurance and Risk Management team to deliver optimal insurance solutions that protect bp and joint venture partners.
  • Build strong connectivity and clear lines of communication across internal customers, SKK Migas, and local/international insurance markets to enable strong delivery.
  • Represent BP Berau Ltd in external insurance collaborate with SKK Migas, brokers, and insurers within Indonesia.
  • Manage third-party service providers including brokers and surveyors to ensure best in class performance and delivery to the business.
  • Appropriately maintain all communications and decisions documents to deliver a robust audit trail.
  • Support Asia Pacific finance team in the areas of JV partners management, commercial analysis, and SKK Migas Work Program and Budget process.

Key Requirements

Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
  • Proficient with the implementation of SKK Migas PTK 044
  • Experience in supporting an insurance tender for oil and gas activities
  • Ability to multi-task; adapt quickly to changing circumstances; prioritize activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence and deliver key messages in a clear fashion.
  • Ability to foresee potential problems and opportunities and devise plans to mitigate/capitalize for the optimum outcome.
  • Listening skills
