We are looking for a Second Engineer with an offshore mindset to join a cable-laying project in the USA!

Function Description

A Second Engineer on a cable‑laying vessel plays a key role in supporting the Chief Engineer with the overall management of the engine room and technical operations. This position is responsible for the safe and reliable performance of all onboard machinery, including main and auxiliary engines, generators, pumps, compressors, and refrigeration systems, as well as specialized equipment used during cable‑handling activities. An effective Second Engineer maintains high safety and environmental standards, ensures proper maintenance routines are carried out, and provides guidance and supervision to junior members of the engineering team.

Requirements

To be well‑suited for this role, an ideal candidate should possess:

• DP cert;
• COC III/2;
• BOSIET;
• Valid STCW's for the role;
• Offshore medical OGUK;
• USA B1 visa with wind annotation.
