Location: Anchorage, Alaska POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Project Controls Lead is responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing cost estimates, cost budgets, project planning, scheduling, risk analysis, and performance reporting to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. They oversee data analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support decision-making and project performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cost analysis, planning and scheduling and strong communication skills with an ability to condense large amounts of information into succinct reports. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, cost and schedule estimates to ensure timely delivery of project goals and objectives.
• Provide leadership and coordination with project managers, engineers, and contractors to identify and resolve cost or schedule issues.
• Lead a team of cost engineers and planners to optimize project cost and timelines.
• Coordinate with Project Controls teams on each EPCm to gather schedule and cost data, perform analysis, identifying trends for improved project efficiency.
• Support project risk management by identifying cost and schedule-related risks, performing cost-benefit analyses and mitigating project risks.
• Develop and prepare all Project Controls procedures and reporting tools for the project.
• Prepare and present project status reports, variation analyses and weekly/bi-weekly/ monthly report processes and meetings across all EPCms for management and other stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS: • Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related experience.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in Project Controls on large scale capital projects.
• Certifications such as PMP or CCP.
• Skills & Competencies
• Proven work experience as a Project Controls Specialist with excellent knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
• Proficiency with PM software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Mining industry experience preferred.
• Leadership & Communication
• Proven leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and lead across functional and project departments.
