Our client, TotalEnergies EP Angola (TEPA), is executing major Brownfield Life Extension (LIFEX) projects to extend the operational life of offshore FPSOs located in deepwater Angola.

Within the Project Brownfield (PBF) Division, the DALIA LIFEX Project aims to extend the life of the DALIA FPSO and associated subsea facilities beyond 2036, with potential extension to 2045. The project is executed in a complex offshore environment under SIMOPS on live FPSOs, requiring strong engineering leadership, interface management, and uncompromising HSEQ standards.

To support this strategic initiative, TEPA is seeking an experienced Mooring Engineering Specialist to lead all activities related to the FPSO mooring system life extension.

Job Description

• Lead all FPSO mooring system life extension activities for the DALIA and GIRASSOL assets.
• Promote and demonstrate strong HSEQ leadership and safety culture.
• Manage mooring engineering interfaces to ensure alignment with project schedules and requirements.
• Lead engineering development for topside mooring handling equipment refurbishment.
• Plan and execute mooring chain link displacement activities, including procedures, planning, and contractor coordination.
• Lead procurement and contract execution for:
  
  • Spare mooring lines
  • Mooring line installation contracts
  • OEM refurbishment services
• Implement mooring failure detection systems in line with TotalEnergies OneTech recommendations.
• Liaise with OneTech specialists, Classification Societies, FEED contractors, and internal TEPA entities.
• Participate in HAZIDs, HAZOPs, technical reviews, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide timely reporting to project management and highlight risks and mitigation actions.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• 15-20 years' experience in offshore Oil & Gas projects.
• ~10 years' proven experience in mooring engineering.
• Strong knowledge of FPSO mooring systems, deepwater environments, and life extension projects.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization and high-risk SIMOPS environment.
• English mandatory; Portuguese is an advantage.
• Valid BOSIET certification.
