Responsible for health and safety in the design of installations

KPIs :
  • Cluster engineering schedule plan vs actuals
  • 100% of the HSE recommandations are raised and closed out by engineering implementation or mitigation / managerial decision

Ownership of licensing & permitting for the construction and operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, enforcing EHS policies, as well as delivering all the work needed in terms of Safety in design,
including safety trainings, the design and compliance of fire detection and protection systems, simplifying the insurability of the future operations.

Key accountabilities:
  • Responsible for health and safety in the design of installations.
  • Part of the facilities design project team

Major tasks:
  • Implements the health and safety procedures and standards in the design phase to ensure future facility compliance and excellent health and safety performance,
  • Manages the HSE actions register (list of HSE recommendation and status).
  • Ensures that safety-related project management procedures and methodological tools described in the document "PHL-XX-AM-059- HSE Philosophy for design" are properly implemented,
  • Works closely with the Permitting & HSE Cluster Manager and the site's Safety representatives.


Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in H&S management or in Engineering,
  • Technical English, read and spoken
  • At least 5 years' experience in technical or construction projects, having been involved in safety design.
  • Expertise in methodological tools for safety design (such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS, FERA, LOPA, SIL, HIRA)
  • Good knowledge of French regulations on health and safety at work
  • Basic knowledge of the safety rules and standards required at ArcelorMittal
  • Ability to develop technical knowledge
  • Ability to work as part of an international, multidisciplinary project team,
  • Good interpersonal skills, rigor, self-reliance, curiosity.
