Wood has an opportunity for an experienced Principal Piping Designer that has previous experience of working across Feasibility Studies and FEEDs, plus EPC and PMC projects. This is an opportunity for you to become a valuable, well-rounded of an experienced team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What makes you remarkable?

• Ensure engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities, etc.
• Conceptualization and implementation of all piping CAD functions to extract deliverables with appropriate details on their appointed projects
• Review with the Area Piping Engineer / Lead piping Engineer all the needs and technical aspects which can affect the schedule of the job
• Ensure that all comments are consistent and are included in the drawings according to the applicable procedures
• Prepare, issue and follow-up of the General Notes on drawings, typical piping details, plot plan and scope layout study for the specific jobs
• Check / Approve of all piping documentation including Piping MTO produced on his team, except Plot plan, before issuing. Plot plan shall be approved by the Lead Piping Engineer
• Prepare and submit to the Area Piping Engineer the Punch List of all remaining activities to be performed on a specific job
• The Principal Piping Designer will also perform the duties of Piping Designer
• When nominated by the Discipline Head, act as Quality Correspondent checking and/or approving documents as requested in the Project Execution through the implementation of proper check lists
• Provide developmental guidance and mentoring of more junior members of the group including performance reviews

QUALIFICATIONS

• High Vocational Certificate or bachelor's degree in Mechanical or equivalent
• Minimum 15 years of relevant and proven experience
• Sound knowledge of all general piping design, developing experience in piping layout and phases of plot plan development
• Strong skill in 3D Design Software, SmartPlant3D (SP3D) is mandatory. Competence in MS office, experienced in executing work using intelligent 2D CAD such as AutoCAD
• Experience in materials selection for specifications engineers
• Think strategically, take Initiative
• Ability to lead and inspire the team
• Ability to coach and mentor team members in accelerating people development, improving quality of service, and maintaining consistency of deliverables
• Ability to improving quality of service and maintaining consistency of deliverables
• Good command in English communication
