Purpose of the Position:
Evaluate and improve the system for integrity management in natural gas distribution pipelines. Analyze and identify risk levels and findings related to pipeline defects, as well as follow up on results.

Application of standards (NOM 009 ASEA 2016, API, ASME B31.8 and B31.8s), and monitoring of integrity KPIs.

Functions and Responsibilities
  • Management of Operational Steel Plans.
  • Knowledge and handling of ECDA methodology, supervision, and validation of field tests.
  • Assessment of transportation and distribution capacities through the natural gas distribution infrastructure.
  • Collect, review, integrate, and analyze information in accordance with NOM-009-ASEA-2017.
  • Development of risk analysis and assessment.
  • Identification and delimitation of high‑consequence areas that may be impacted by loss of containment and demographic factors.
  • Management, interpretation, and application of standards NOM‑003‑ASEA‑2016, NOM‑009‑ASEA‑2017, NOM‑007‑ASEA‑2016, NACE‑SP0169, ISO‑15589‑1, ASME B31.8S, ASME B31G, ASME PCC‑2, API, among other national and international standards.
  • Interpretation and review of cathodic protection system drawings, as well as calculations of materials required for cathodic protection of new pipelines and restorations.
  • Planning, execution, and analysis of pipeline inspection results.
  • Implement improvements to the cathodic protection system, as well as interpret results from various field studies conducted to maintain cathodic protection in pipelines, such as soil resistivity, current demand, AC/DC interference, CIS and DCVG/ACVG studies, ECDA, among others.

Occupational Profile and Experience:
Mechanical Engineer, Chemical Engineer, Petroleum Engineer, Civil Engineer, or related engineering fields.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in drawing software (MicroStation and AutoCAD).
  • GIS tools (Geographic Information Systems).
  • Corrosion control (Cathodic Protection courses and/or NACE).
  • NDT certifications (Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particles, UT, Visual Inspection).
  • Use of iMSAI or similar software. Integral or Quality Management System.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Natural Gas or Hydrocarbons distribution.
  • Knowledge of pipeline coating systems (CIP 1 certification).
