The City of York Council are looking to appoint an experienced property professional to lead the commissioning and management of services and to manage complex construction projects within Property Services.

The City of York Council are looking to appoint an experienced property professional to lead the commissioning and management of services and to manage complex construction projects within Property Services.
The role:
- Working in an historic City with a varied portfolio of buildings
- To lead & work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- To lead and be responsible for the commissioning and performance of commissioned property services which shall comprise a mix of hard and soft FM services and range of other business support services as necessary.
- To manage performance of those commissioned services
- Preparation of tender documents, Contract Administration and Health and Safety information
- Develop and manage projects from inception to building completion
- Undertake Surveys, specifications, manage works, compliance and health and safety.
Essential Skill, Qualifications and Experience:
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence.
- Experience in a similar or related role within the construction industry.
- Capable of running/managing their own projects, leading a team and working within a team on larger projects
With:
- Clear decision making in a timely manner based on facts and sound rationale
- High level of interpersonal and people management skills and attributes
- Highly literate and experienced with IT.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management and teams
- Self-motivated with excellent planning and organisational ability
Must have experience in:
- A similar role
- Interacting with clients and stakeholders at a senior level
- Detailed understanding of public sector procurement and management of commissioned services
- Detailed knowledge of construction project management, health and safety, statutory regulations and compliance.
- Team management.
