At ABB, we help industries outrun - leaner and cleaner. Here, progress is an expectation - for you, your team, and the world. As a global market leader, we'll give you what you need to make it happen. It won't always be easy, growing takes grit. But at ABB, you'll never run alone. Run what runs the world.

This Position reports to:
Production Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to support the deployment of the continuous improvement strategy for a local organizational unit, contributing to a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and AI‑driven improvement. Each day, you will mentor and coach teams to achieve operational excellence and drive improved results. You will also showcase your expertise by deploying and leading projects to improve and sustain local business performance.

Work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite.

In this role, you'll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact, as you will be accountable for:
  • Coordinating the division's Continuous Improvement roadmap and OPEX initiatives, enabling teams to deliver cost‑saving results and sustainable process enhancements.
  • Coordinating and promoting the spread of AI culture within the local division by leading all AI-related projects and initiatives, ensuring consistent adoption, alignment, and measurable impact across teams.
  • Escalating to relevant stakeholders, as necessary, to remove roadblocks that prevent the successful implementation and adoption of continuous improvement initiatives at local level and helping facilitate cases of conflicting priorities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensuring the continuous improvement approach and strategy deployed at local ABB unit level is aligned with the global strategy.
  • Facilitating significant improvements with respect to safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and/or cost targets, meeting customer and stakeholder commitments in collaboration with local leadership.
  • Providing training support by developing and maintaining training modules and toolkits aligned with business needs in collaboration with management at local level.

Qualifications for the role
  • Master degree in Industrial Engineering is preferable, alternatively solid experience in Continuous Improvement and Opex Projects will be considered.
  • Good understanding of the main AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, Google), basic knowledge of low‑code integration languages (Python, JavaScript), and familiarity with process automation platforms, particularly Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Previous academic, professional, or personal projects involving AI (e.g., prompt engineering, use of LLMs, small automations, data analysis, or chatbot prototypes), demonstrating curiosity and hands‑on experimentation.
  • Basic knowledge of MV and LV Products (both Circuit Breakers and Switchgears) and their production processes is preferable.
  • Good understanding of SAP modules (PP, MM) and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel (pivot tables, basic macros), with the ability to analyze data and support process optimization.
  • Fluent English and Italian both written and spoken.
  • A collaborative, motivated, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills. Strong leadership and ownership.

Benefits

Locally, you can count on:
  • Competitive compensation: Attractive salary packages and performance bonuses.
  • Corporate welfare: Access to a wide range of services and personal well-being support.
  • Career development: Structured career paths, individual development plans, opportunities for internal mobility, including international roles, technical and managerial training programs, mentoring and access to global learning platforms.
  • Flexibility and work-life balance: Flexible working hours, hybrid work options, and a strong focus on work-life integration.
  • Employee Support: free services like psychological help, wellness coaching, and emotional support for employees and their families.
  • Parental Leave: at least 12 weeks of fully paid leave for primary caregivers and 4 weeks for secondary caregivers, promoting DEI values.
  • Meal allowance: Access to canteen.
