Job Description

The Position holder is responsible for assisting in delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable products and services to our customers. The job consults with operations groups as needed to support the area of expertise and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement of product and service delivery and formally communicates findings. The Data Hub Geologist / Geophysicist / Petrophysicist actively participates in promoting new technology and services offerings and supports the PL in risk management and applying lessons learned to improve job design and execution as related to the area of expertise. They provide real-time support to operations as required. The Data Hub Geologist / Geophysicist / Petrophysicist will be responsible for designing and developing and tackling open-ended data problems related to oil and gas domain. The Data Hub Data Hub Geologist / Geophysicist / Petrophysicist will be working with very complex, large data sets & data related challenges. The individual will be responsible for collaborating with various cross functional teams and providing periodic updates through presentations and demonstrations. The role will require working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Should be recognized as an expert in relevant science and technology, client activities and business processes within a System. Good to have a working knowledge on SLB Digital and Integration technology and/or similar technology. Good to have a knowledge of existing and emerging technology across the Systems.
• Should be able to discuss with the Clients on their challenges and suggest the solutions as needed. Should be able to contribute to the Best Practices in the project delivery. Should be able to set the project objectives and priorities, as well as set milestones.
• Should be able to play an active QA role for the mainstay process. Should be able to apply and adjust relevant standards within the mainstay process.
• Should be able to demonstrate the value of these approaches to the Client. Should be able to demonstrate project management skills and can manage a small project team, if required.
• Assist as required with the development of technical job designs for PLs.
• Assist with identifying areas where new and cost-effective techniques can be applied.
• Assimilate next-generation technologies for data-driven solutions in oil and gas domain
• Generate innovative ideas, establish new research directions, and shape and execute on research projects
• Explore opportunities for value-added products and services.
• Consult with Design/Technical/Software Engineer role as required to optimize the technical design.
• Assist in real-time incident response, recovery, and investigation as related to the area of expertise.
• Provide technical support around expertise throughout the Sales and Product and Service Delivery process.
• Assist in evaluating technical viability and overall appraisal of opportunities as related to the area of expertise.
• Remain current on new technologies.
• Maintain customer visibility through active participation in professional society activities and calls for papers.
• Understand the competition's technical offering.
• Contribute, write, and review technical publications.
• Engage with local universities, Customer institutes and research organizations.

Qualifications and Experience

• B.Tech/M.Tech/Msc./PhD in Geophysics, Geology, Petrophysics from reputed institute
• E&P / Service company (6+ years of Experience)
• Understanding and strong experience in E&P and SLB applications is a plus
• Experience of working with complex, large data sets and data related challenges
• Experience of working with SLB software is desirable (Petrel, Techlog, Studio etc)
• Knowledge of similar G&G software from the competitive companies is a plus
• Track records of past publications in relevant topics is a plus
• Process optimization, critical thinking / problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Immediate availability will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Google / Azure / AWS cloud platform is a plus
• Knowledge of scripting in C#, Java, Python, AI/ML, Oracle/SQL is a plus
