This role is in High Pressure Compressor section for GE legacy engines in Airfoil/Rotor commodity. Activities aimed at proving a concept to be valid or technically feasible by the application of scientific and engineering methodologies. Work in this family typically has the objective of demonstrating through test or analyses the performance and implementation potential of a concept. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.)

Roles Overview:
- Execute design and analysis activities for Airfoil structural design in cold and hot sections modules or Rotating components of engines for issue resolution, performance improvements, cost/weight reduction, Durability and producibility improvements
- Drive and deliver on cost, performance & weight targets
- Should collaborate with PSE for developing field plan
- Should network & establish strong connections with Commodity CTHs, Cross functional teams viz. Supply Chain, Repair, MAE, CTPs and Shop technical teams for achieving the desired outcomes
- Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with proactive communication internally and externally
- Leverage digital tools & analyze the data insights to drive appropriate actions
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Ideal Candidate:
Should have experience in Mechanical design, Finite element analysis of rotating parts.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD/MTech /MS in Mechanical/Aerospace
- 8+ years of relevant experience on Mechanical design/hardware ownership/ Finite element analysis of rotating parts preferably in aircraft engine/gas turbine domain
Desired Characteristics
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
- Exposure to Heat transfer analysis, Lifing methodologies, Manufacturing processes will be added advantage
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams. Lead initiatives of moderate to complex scope and impact.
- Proven analytical and organizational ability.
