KBR is looking for a Compensation Specialist to work in our Leatherhead office. This is a fixed term contract until April 2027.

The Compensation Specialist in PARC will support the payroll team by ensuring payroll operations run smoothly and follow best practices. The main goal is to help create a positive experience for both employees and the business.

Working closely with the PARC team and our onshore and offshore Finance and Payroll teams, you will assist in compensation-related tasks for KBR UK entities, including FNC, STS, and DNTS. Your responsibilities will include helping with pre-payroll activities, maintaining employee records, triaging employee queries, and supporting the rollout of the new Workday Global payroll system.

This role is a great opportunity to build relationships with key internal stakeholders and develop your skills in payroll and compensation processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and execute all pre-payroll administrative tasks for pay cycles in FNC,MTS, and DNTS.
  • Ensure accurate processing of termination payments, redundancies and settlement agreements.
  • Calculating and processing family leave, overtime, bonuses, and all other ad-hoc pay adjustments.
  • Provide support for Global Compensation and Benefits projects.
  • Reconcile and process the monthly Charity reports, working closely with Finance and the Charities Giving
  • Coordinate process enhancements within the Compensation & Benefits team to minimise duplications and streamline resource usage.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including Finance, Lines of Business, and external vendors, while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Reporting of Sickness within Timesheets, annual leave queries and calculations within Costpoint
  • Liaising with People Partners surrounding pay and sickness queries
  • Deal with queries surrounding Compensation pay ranges and job families
  • Support Global Compensation with annual salary range updates
  • Benchmarking of job families and profiles on an ad hoc basis
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the Compensation & Benefits Manager.
  • Assist with data management in systems to ensure accuracy and integrity of information.

Experience:
  • Experience of effectively processing/supporting payroll with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll and UK pay types.
  • Workday experience essential
  • Understanding the key nuances of payroll e.g. pay types, pay codes, and pay frequencies.
  • Experience and understanding of annual pay cycles; e.g. company-wide pay increases and bonus payments
  • Experience of payroll processes for salary sacrifice schemes, including pension, cycle to work, season ticket loans, childcare vouchers, and company vehicles (desirable)
  • Intermediate excel knowledge including VLOOKUP's and pivot tables

Technical Skills/Knowledge
  • Good standard of competence in Microsoft packages
  • Experience of managing information in databases
  • Understanding of UK employment law, compliance and the GDPR data protection.
  • Understanding of security clearances and associated process (BPSS, SC, DV) - Desirable
  • Previous experience in payroll, finance, or banking (desirable)
  • Previous experience with Workday (essential)
