If you are a project management professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson Tool Company has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our St. Louis, MO facility, the New Product Development (NPD) Project Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional teams through the full lifecycle of developing and launching new products into retail and commercial distribution channels. Under the direction of the Director of New Product Development, the NPD Project Manager drives project execution through coordination of activities across functions, ensures clarity of plans and milestones, manages budget and resources, identifies and mitigates risk, and communicates effectively across functions and to executive leadership.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Drive new product development projects from concept through commercialization, driving cross functional accountability and execution within a structured phase-gate process
  • Build comprehensive project plans and display high level project management acumen through effective control of scope, schedule, financial, change, and risk management strategies
  • Lead cross functional teams ensuring timely deliverable completion meeting project milestones to support successful product launch and commercialization
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, escalate issues appropriately, and provide clear, ongoing visibility to leadership on status, constraints, and resource needs
  • Rigorously maintain thorough project documentation, lead key project meetings and reviews, and communicate project updates to executive management
  • Manage the NPD funnel, maintain prioritization of in-flight projects and monitor resources levels pertaining to the organization's capacity for NPD projects
  • Act as PMO by driving use of standardized project methodologies and tools, facilitating best practice sharing across teams, and maintaining strong governance ensuring consistent execution
  • Lead complex and strategic sustaining projects as necessary

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field with minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or a master's degree with minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated project management success leading cross-functional teams in a product development environment
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple large, complex projects at a time
  • Expertise in project management software and tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Asana)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and drive accountability across multiple departments and levels
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to progress projects forward independently
  • Ability to resolve issues, make decisions and provide advice to project team members and functional leaders supporting product development teams
  • Analytical mindset with experience using quantitative tools, cost models, and data driven decision making
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Greater than 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • CAPM or PMP certification
  • Demonstrated new product development or product launch experience, including prototype evaluation, testing, or supplier coordination
  • Familiarity with consumer goods product launch requirements, packaging development, or compliance standards
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and product lifecycle management for physical goods
  • Experience with continuous improvement projects or change management workstreams; able to facilitate organizational process improvement
