Job Description:

HVC Inventory SME

The Inventory SME plays a key role in making sure our inventory processes run optimally and deliver real value to the business. You'll help keep daily operations on track, ensure accuracy in stock data, and support teams across the hydrocarbon value chain.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate and support the team responsible for volumetric inventory control, ensuring all stock movements, balances and system data are accurate and complete.
  • Make sure operational and stock‑related systems are used optimally to support day‑to‑day delivery, quality control and continuous improvement.
  • Work with the Inventory Accounting Team Lead to coordinate workload across the team and keep processes running efficiently.
  • Prove that all consignment stock sales are assembled on time and that monthly book‑to‑physical reconciliations are complete, investigated and resolved.
  • Act as a key contact point for issues related to stock movement data across interfaced systems, helping teams understand and resolve problems quickly.
  • Provide authority support to the HVC team during monthly, quarterly and annual financial close.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, engineers, operations, third‑party partners and service providers to keep inventory data flowing and address issues as they arise.
  • Support large system upgrades and process‑improvement initiatives across all project stages.
  • Lead and mentor a team of analysts who support system interfaces impacting ERP volumes.
  • Lead all aspects of daily monitoring and clearing of balancing items, helping the team stay ahead of problems.
  • Ensure stock assurance processes are well‑documented, understood and easily accessible.
  • Coordinate with depots and supply teams to keep inventory processes aligned, including participation in depot stock dip witnesses and bi‑annual depot audits.
  • Support data integrity: maintain accurate stock movement documents, ensure timely data updates and handle secure data handling.
  • Help teams identify root causes of posting issues, negative inventory impacts and delays in stock actualization.
  • Support internal and external audits and supply to incident reviews and control improvements.
  • Deliver training and mentorship so business teams can use stock‑related systems.
  • Assist with business continuity planning for system outages and provide after‑hours support when needed.
  • Chip in to team planning, performance tracking and operational reporting-bringing insights that help us improve!

Systems You'll Work With:


E‑Maintenance, SAP, EDI, ATG, CPM, Fuelfacs and OpenText.


What You Bring:

Strong hands‑on experience with operational systems and inventory processes. A problem‑solving attitude and confidence in identifying the root cause of data issues. Ability to advise a team, share knowledge and build strong working relationships across the business.
Comfort working in fast paced operational environments-especially during month‑end close
