Field Specialist - Fluid Analysis

SLB is seeking a motivated, safety-focused, and technically curious individual to join our Nisku team as a Fluids Sampling and Analysis Specialist. In this role, you will directly support field operations by performing high-quality, safe sampling of gas, oil, and water at wellsite locations. You will conduct fluids analysis in both onsite and offsite laboratory environments while learning the full lifecycle of sampling operations. We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, can adapt quickly in dynamic field settings, and is eager to build both technical and business skills. Strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to communicate effectively with field teams and supervisors will be key to your success. This position provides the opportunity to broaden your technical foundation while also developing commercial awareness through structured technical and soft-skills training programs. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Laboratory Supervisor and Job Delivery Lead, gaining exposure to operational workflows, sampling best practices, and customer-focused service delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform surface sampling from separators and multi-phase meters.
- Conduct flash and compositional analysis, along with other technical tasks at the wellsite or laboratory.
- Follow all SLB Code of Ethics, QHSE policies, standard operating procedures, and laboratory workflows.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe laboratory working conditions.
- Participate in required safety, technical, and business meetings.
- Learn the service portfolio through on-the-job and technical training programs.
- Support the dynamic nature of laboratory operations and remain flexible for additional duties, including short-term assignments ("loans") as needed.
- Provide support as required, including:
- Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Supplying test results and information to clients.
- Assisting in training new recruits.
- Ordering supplies, chemicals, and parts.
- Proper disposal of laboratory waste according to HSE.
- Preparing presentations for internal and external clients.
- Performing QA/QC and reviewing procedures, results, and reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or bachelor's in chemical, Engineering, or Applied Sciences.
- 1-2 years of experience in a relevant laboratory environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills, decision-making ability, and attention to detail.
- Creativity, innovation, and openness to cross-disciplinary learning.
- Solid understanding of basic laboratory techniques and fundamental computer skills.
- Willingness to share knowledge and support peers.
- Basic understanding of business concepts (e.g., CAPEX, OPEX, revenue).
- Class 5 driver's license and clean driving record.
- Holding certifications such as TDG training, CSO, First Aid Level 2, and H2S Alive is considered an asset.
- Ability to thrive in a global, multicultural, and inclusive workplace built on respect and diversity.
- Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada without company sponsorship.
