Position Summary
We are seeking a Lead Quality Assurance & Performance Excellence Engineer to join the General Engineering & Construction Services Division's Design Performance Excellence Unit (DPEU). This senior role serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in engineering quality and project delivery.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive quality assurance oversight of GES+ and GESi Contractors while spearheading the Centers of Excellence (CoE) initiative to enhance the capabilities of local engineering firms. By blending technical auditing with strategic project management expertise, the incumbent will optimize project execution, resolve complex quality defects, and lead continuous improvement efforts to ensure best-in-class performance across the Company's capital projects program.
Key Responsibilities
• Quality Oversight & Governance: Lead quality assurance oversight of GES Contractors, chairing critical workshops and performing spot-check evaluations to ensure compliance with Contractor Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Saudi Aramco standards.
• Centers of Excellence Leadership: Oversee the coordination and governance of the CoE initiative, facilitating knowledge-sharing sessions and change management efforts to communicate the value of excellence initiatives to stakeholders.
• Performance Analytics: Develop and manage advanced data dashboards and reporting metrics, specifically the Design Performance Index (DPI), to monitor contractor performance and identify trends for executive management.
• Expert Advisory: Provide SME-level guidance on project planning, execution, and controls to resolve project quality defects, schedule slippages, and potential cost overruns.
• Continuous Improvement & Best Practices: Collaborate with design and project teams to identify, capture, and promote Value Improvement Practices (VIPs), innovative solutions, and lessons learned.
• Auditing & Compliance: Serve as a Lead Auditor for contractor QMS assessments and benchmarking, ensuring alignment with ISO standards and organizational goals.
• Mentorship & Leadership: Lead internal problem-solving teams and peer reviews for high-CAPEX projects; train and mentor developing engineers and project professionals in quality methodologies.
• Standardization: Participate in the development and refinement of company-wide standards, guidelines, and policies related to engineering and project management functions.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering; a Master's degree in Engineering or Project Management is highly preferred.
Experience: 15+ years of experience in engineering and project management within the Oil & Gas or related industries.
o Experience in quality assurance, quality control, or engineering design leadership role is advantageous.
o Proven track record in design project execution and managing large-scale engineering services (GES) contracts.
Certifications:
o Project Management Professional (PMP), APM, or equivalent.
o Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) or Quality Engineer (CQE) certification is preferred.
o ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification is advantageous.
Technical Skills:
o Expertise in Quality Assurance terms, tools, and methodologies (Corrective Action Programs, Root Cause Analysis).
o Deep understanding of preliminary/detailed engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
o Proficiency in Data Analytics and Visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, presentation, and communication skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams and provide strategic oversight while maintaining technical accuracy.
