Job Description
Responsibilities as part of our industry-leading FWI and imaging team include:
- Research and develop new algorithms in seismic imaging, inversion and earth model building
- Adapt recent innovations from data science and applied mathematics into seismic inversion applications
- Investigate and ensure the geophysical integrity of our software as it is developed and commercialized
- Present results at internal and external conferences and at client meetings
- Provide support to commercialization and operational teams
Qualifications
- PhD in Computational Physics/Applied Math/Geophysics or equivalent knowledge level.
- Strong background in applied mathematics/physics/geophysics, especially in inverse problems, numerical inversion, numerical simulation, linear and nonlinear solvers, machine-learning and optimization.
- Experience programming for high performance computing environments using C++
- Good oral and written communication skills
