Fire Safety AdvisorLocation: SomersetJob Type: ContractDuration: OngoingRate: £300 per day (Umbrella)About the OpportunitySpencer Ogden are supporting a major UK infrastructure construction project in the search for an experienced Fire Safety Advisor to join a dedicated site-based Fire Safety Team.This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role within a complex, high-risk, multi-contractor environment on a nationally significant energy programme.The RoleThe Fire Safety Advisor will report to the Fire Safety Manager and provide professional fire safety advice and assurance across the construction site.The role is focused on ensuring fire safety standards are established, implemented, and maintained in line with UK legislation and industry best practice.Key responsibilities include:Providing fire safety advice and guidance to the Principal Contractor and wider contractor baseSupporting the development and implementation of fire safety policies, procedures, and management systemsConducting Fire Safety Assurance Audits and inspections across contractor-controlled areasUndertaking suitable and sufficient fire risk assessmentsReviewing Fire Risk Assessments and DSEAR assessments completed by contractorsAdvising Project Managers and design teams on building fire strategiesSupporting investigations into fire-related incidentsAssisting with reporting and analysis of fire safety performance dataActing as an advisor to Health & Safety groups on general and process fire safety mattersPromoting a positive fire safety culture across a large and diverse workforceExperience & QualificationsEssential:Working knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and regulatory requirementsExperience within construction or complex industrial environmentsProven background in undertaking fire risk assessments and fire safety auditsUnderstanding of process fire risk and high-risk activitiesKnowledge of DSEAR implicationsStrong organisational and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced construction settingUnderstanding of risk assessment principles, including dynamic risk assessmentNEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Management Certificate (or equivalent)Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. Institute of Fire Engineers)Desirable:Degree or diploma-level qualification (or equivalent experience)Experience developing and implementing fire safety policies and plansWhy Apply?Ongoing contract on a major UK infrastructure projectOpportunity to work within a high-performing fire safety teamCompetitive umbrella day rateExposure to a large-scale, highly regulated construction environmentIf you are an experienced Fire Safety professional looking for your next contract opportunity, please apply with your CV outlining your relevant experience.
