The Environment division of AtkinsRéalis is a rapidly growing full-service consulting firm that is committed to technical excellence and exceptional service to our clients. Our growing organization is seeking like-minded individuals to join our team.
We have one of the most experienced environmental and geosciences engineering consulting teams in Canada and we are seeking a Team Lead for our National Risk Assessment team. The successful candidate will bring well developed leadership skills to provide senior level technical direction and mentoring of staff, strong client management skills and the ability to collaborate with other Team Leads to contribute to management initiatives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of over 10+ staff comprising technical and professional staff at all levels of development. They will support management in promoting collaboration within the Environment Practice and with other Technical Practices, Business Units, Proposal and Marketing and Project Delivery divisions to ensure effective resource sharing and workload/resource balancing. They will provide operational leadership to the Environment Practice by allocating risk assessors and toxicologists to projects, managing or acting in a senior technical direction role on risk assessment projects and supporting the technical development of staff to support project execution.

Your role
- Supervise and mentor a multi-regional team of environmental professionals and technical staff.
- Understand client objectives, technical protocols, and applicable regulatory frameworks to guide project execution.
- Act as a primary interface between clients, internal project teams, and regulatory bodies.
- Manage projects by developing technical programs, coordinating resources, overseeing budgets and schedules, and ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
- Grow revenue by strengthening existing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
- Identify project risks and develop strategies to ensure quality, profitability, and compliance.
- Promote and uphold quality assurance programs, corporate policies, and health and safety protocols.
About you
- Master's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Toxicology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience conducting human health and ecological risk assessments, including at least 2 years in a leadership, mentoring, or staff management capacity.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience supervising and mentoring multidisciplinary technical teams and providing senior-level technical direction.
- Strong knowledge of provincial and federal risk assessment guidance and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to apply sound professional judgment and problem-solving skills in complex project environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including advanced technical writing abilities; bilingualism in French is considered an asset.
