Mechanical SupervisorLocationBeauly IV4 7BG (E&C Site)Role OverviewThe Mechanical Supervisor plays a key supporting leadership role on site, assisting the Site Manager by coordinating small teams and overseeing work activities to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality project delivery.The role carries a strong duty of care for personal safety and the safety of all personnel on site, ensuring full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards at all times.Reporting to: Site Manager (or as required by deployment)Key ResponsibilitiesWork in accordance with all applicable QEHS procedures as outlined during site induction.Lead assigned teams across designated work fronts, ensuring activities are delivered:On timeTo the required quality standardsWithin approved cost parametersUndertake forward planning to ensure upcoming work fronts are fully prepared with:Engineering informationPlant and equipmentMaterialsLabourSupporting resourcesOperate within agreed site timescales and proactively identify and communicate potential delays or deviations.Coordinate effectively with other contractors and work parties to ensure safe and efficient site operations.Capture and report delays, disruptions, and scope changes in accordance with project requirements.Key ObjectivesAdhere strictly to site rules and procedures as defined by site management.Support the preparation and completion of required project documentation within milestone deadlines.Ensure task cards allocated to the team are completed within agreed timescales.Comply with company requirements for timesheet and expense submission.Experience & BackgroundApprentice trained with City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent relevant qualification) plus a minimum of 1 year's experience; ORIndustry-recognised training with at least 2 years' experience working within a team on an Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) construction site or similar environment (Power Generation, Oil & Gas, or General Construction).Essential experience includes:Participation in mechanical and/or electrical installation activities.Working within live power or substation environments.Strong substation experience.Experience with cable route installation and associated works.Monitoring and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental legislation within a power environment.Required Certifications (Construction Projects)CSCS or CCNSG Safety PassportSSSTS or SMSTS3-Day First AidIPAFTemporary Works SupervisorHSG47 (Avoiding Danger from Underground Services)MEWPRoto 360Manual HandlingWorking at HeightFire Safety AwarenessClient-Specific (Example: National Grid)SSE Authorisation Category 3Scottish Power / National Grid BESC PersonNational Grid Competent Person NSI6National Grid Competent Person NSI8 (Limited)Personal AttributesStrong interpersonal and communication skills.Proficient IT skills (Word, Excel and standard reporting tools).Proactive and solution-oriented mindset.Strong leadership capability with the ability to motivate and manage site teams.Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.Positive and professional approach to conflict resolution.Capable of working independently or as part of a wider team.
