Overview
We have an exciting and innovative new team focussed on new and groundbreaking projects, allowing a chance to influence future design decisions - and we want you to be part of it! For this role, you can be based in either our Pickering or Mississauga, ON, offices, within a hybrid working environment.
The team is in "start-up mode", so this is a hands-on position, with everyone helping to achieve our commitments, and go above and beyond to impress our clients. Our team will always be the first in the door with potential new build clients, so our goals are to enable follow-on large-scale projects for our company and repeat business for ourselves. As such, this is a dynamic role that requires breadth of perspective and knowledge, along with ability to perform all required work to support all projects, from technical business development through pre-feasibility and early concepts to FEED stages.

Your role
- Assist in the preparation of nuclear plant early site layout concept designs, as well as architectural and building engineering design, specifications, and technical reports as required.
- Support the civil/structural engineers in design and analysis of building systems.
- Apply building code requirements and applicable standards relevant to the project country and jurisdiction.
- Perform basic calculations, design self-checks, and engineering evaluations under supervision.
- Coordinate with architects and other engineers to ensure work is completed to time and within budget.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and coordination sessions.
- Assist with responding to internal and external customer requests for information and proposals, reviewing drawings, and construction documentation.
- Support direction of Designers preparing and revising 3D models and drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, SmartPlant 3D, or similar BIM tools.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation in accordance with company nuclear quality management system procedures.
- Support all other activities for the Design Integration team, including site visits (as required).
- Work under the guidance of licensed engineers to develop competencies required for P.Eng. licensure.
- Actively pursue technical learning, code knowledge, and industry best practices.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Eligibility for eventual licensing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or professional licence application already in progress.
- 2-4 years of relevant junior level mentored engineering experience in building or architectural engineering, as well as ability to undertake industrial site layout conceptual design.
- Proficiency or working knowledge of modern digital design tools and techniques, including 3D/BIM modelling software.
- Basic understanding of BIM workflows and construction documents.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
- Willingness to learn and take feedback.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
