Overview
Role purpose:
To assist the delivery of large complex projects and/or manage smaller type projects for our Customers either independently or as part of programme to time cost and quality criteria.
Responsibilities
Key accountabilities:
1) Planning & Control
Input to detailed project plans and creation of smaller project plans, encompassing all deliverables & ensuring stakeholder buy in.. Manage or input to change control using the appropriate process.
2) Leadership, Communication & Stakeholder Management
Creates and sustains collaborative working relationships across the customer, suppliers and internal delivery teams, defining clear roles and responsibilities.
3) Financial Management
Control of small project budgets and for projects owned, tracking and reporting of forecast vs actual CAPEX and OPEX budgets. Financial management may also extend to change management and subsequent revenue generation.
4) Project Governance & Methodology
Complies with Vodafone Project Delivery Lifecycle (VPDL) methodology which is supported by industry project management standards such as PRINCE2.
5) Risk & Issue Management
Establish & maintains a Risk and Issue register identifying new risks and response strategies.
Supporting the PM
Raising implementation change requests to CNI customer process.
Managing test defect remediation
Coordinating planned implementation work with engineers
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
1) Leadership and Team working - Can demonstrate a required level of leadership and collaborative skills to manage cross functional teams and project stakeholders.
2) Effective Communication - Ability to communicate in an accurate and concise manner to specific audiences, using varying tools and techniques.
3) Planning and Control - Demonstrates a good understanding of basic project management planning tools and methods.
4) Delivery experience in a Projects environment
5) Knowledge of telecommunications industry with specific experience an advantage. Good knowledge of Vodafone products and service propositions is advantageous.
Requirements
Skills and qualifications will include:
Prince 2 Foundation, Practitioner is advantageous
Proven Project Management experience of managing small to medium size assignments/projects
Self-motivated individual with good organisational, interpersonal and influencing skills
Confident and able to liaise and influence across all levels within Vodafone, customer and supplier
Holds active SC
Remote - within 50 miles of Wokingham is the preference but not essential
Travel - Wokingham / Warwick / Newbury - very rare if at all
