JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview

Technip Energies is seeking a highly skilled Building Engineer to join our Field Engineering team for the Net Zero Teesside Power project. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising subcontractors, ensuring the quality, safety, and timely execution of building and structural works in a complex, zero-emissions power facility. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a pioneering project in sustainable energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision & Oversight:
  • Lead and supervise subcontractor activities related to building and structural works on-site.
  • Ensure subcontractors adhere to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate daily activities, monitor progress, and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Quality & Safety Assurance:
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with design, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Enforce safety protocols and promote a safety-first culture among subcontractors and site personnel.
  • Review and approve method statements, work procedures, and inspection and test plans.
  • Technical Support & Coordination:
  • Liaise with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Assist in resolving technical queries related to building works, structural interfaces, and design deviations.
  • Support commissioning activities related to building and structural systems.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of site activities, inspections, and non-conformances.
  • Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and as-built records as required.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Communicate effectively with project management, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support integration of safety, quality, and environmental objectives across all activities.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in supervising subcontractors on large-scale infrastructure or power plant projects, preferably in zero-carbon or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, structural works, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage safety and quality in a construction environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and reporting systems.
