Salary: Location dependent (see benefits section)

Job Type: Permanent, full-time hours

Location: Hybrid working opportunity from the following IB (International Baccalaureate®) Global Centres: The Hague (Netherlands), Washington DC (US) or Cardiff (UK). Approximately one day per fortnight onsite, expectation to flex in line with business needs.

About the Job

The People Project Specialist (Projects & Policy) sits within the Global People Experience Team and reports to the People Projects & Policy Manager.

This role is primarily responsible for driving high quality global People (HR) policy development and managing a portfolio of People projects and initiatives that champion IB's desired culture and support IB's People Strategy. The focus is on delivering well governed policies, coordinated project execution and strong stakeholder engagement across global regions.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Manage People Projects/initiatives from planning through delivery, including workplans, milestones, risks and issues. Ensure projects align with People Team priorities and organizational objectives to enable a consistent, positive people experience.
  • Policy Management: Manage the development, review, governance, and communication of global People (HR) policies. Conduct global legislative and best-practice research to ensure policies reflect compliance expectations and IB's cultural aspirations. Coordinate end-to-end policy governance, approval processes and maintain accurate, accessible documentation. Provide well informed, pragmatic advice on policy application and best practice across regions.
  • Continuous improvement: Promote continuous improvement by applying structured problem-solving and identifying opportunities to streamline processes and build pragmatic and scalable policy / project approaches that can be applied globally in ambiguous or evolving situations. Proactively research best practices and analyze insights and data to recommend targeted enhancements that improve policy/ process effectiveness, support adoption, and elevate the people experience across the IB.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Own the development and ongoing maintenance of dashboards and status reporting, delivering actionable insights, tracking key metrics, and enabling data-driven decision-making for leaders and stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively build and manage strong working relationships across the People Team and wider organization. Facilitate clarity, alignment and sustained support for project / initiatives through effective communication, synthesis of input, and proactive issue management.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all policies, projects, and processes meet governance standards and follow established frameworks. Escalate risks and propose mitigations to maintain consistency and compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification)
  • People/HR knowledge and experience including a thorough understanding of People (HR) principles, including employment legislation and best practice, projects, employee policy/process, and ideally (although not essential) previous exposure to a global people environment.
  • Passion for researching and understanding regional employment law and best practice on a global scale, and enjoys adapting approach to accommodate cultural differences.
  • Understanding of Trade Union and Works Council processes (desirable). Experience of working with union collectives and Works Councils is highly desirable.
  • Project management experience with excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel and PowerPoint) with the ability to produce high-quality documents and presentations.
  • Ability to gather and analyse insights and data to recommend targeted enhancements that improve policy/ process and align with People Strategy.
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, solutions focused, pragmatic, and culturally aware, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all organisational levels.

  • Annual Salary in the region of EUR 55,471 - 69,339 (negotiable dependent on experience).
  • 25 days annual leave plus public holidays, plus opportunity to purchase up to 5 days of leave each year.

For US employees:
  • Annual Salary in the region of USD 72,526 - 90,389 (negotiable dependent on experience). Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to local labor market conditions, educational background, work experience, and relevant certifications
