Job Description
Dredge Mechanic for Dredger.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems on Cutter Suction Dredgers (CSD).
Maintain cutter head, ladder winches, spud systems, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance as per PMS schedule.
Overhaul dredge pumps, slurry pipelines, valves, and associated auxiliaries.
Diagnose faults in diesel engines, marine gearboxes, and mechanical drive systems.
Ensure proper alignment, lubrication, and vibration monitoring of rotating equipment.
Coordinate with Chief Engineer and onboard crew during breakdowns and dry-docking.
Maintain inventory of critical spare parts and report consumption requirements.
Follow safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and environmental compliance standards.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and technical documentation as per company and class requirements.
Qualifications
STCW Training certification.
5-10 years experience on Dredger.
