JOB DESCRIPTION
Your Apprenticeship Development Plan will start at a training facility offsite where you will be trained in the basics required for the chosen apprenticeship. In years 2 through 4 you will gain your initial understanding of our business processes - taking part in a all aspects of the repair work carried out within our Montrose repair facility moving throughout our different departments. Starting in the repair workshop, you will see the lifecycle of our products right through to the completion and shipping of a repaired and refurbished drilling equipment ready to be used in extreme offshore conditions. Your hands-on academic training plan is where learning and development really begins.
You will take part in a 4 year training plan where both training facility offsite and NOV will monitor your progress, supporting and guiding you to become a successful and first class Welder . Year One: You will spend all year working towards your hands-on SVQ Level 2 Qualification offsite . Your SVQ Level 2 will create the foundations for progression - understanding general fundamental engineering processes and requirements. Year Two, three and four: You will be onsite at Montrose where you will join the NOV team and use their knowledge to further your development - you will gain first-hand exposure in our fabrication workshop learning SMAW, GMAW, GTAW Sub Arc welding processes whilst developing an understanding of our procedures, policies and values. During year four you will work with limited supervision and aim to pass several commonly used weld process coding. Assuming you achieve a minimal of NC level you will graduate as a fully trained and skilled NOV welder.

AS AN NOV APPRENTICE YOU WILL BE:

Desirable Qualifications: -
English National 5, grade C, or above
Maths National 5, grade C, or above
Science National 5, grade C, or above
National 5, grade C, or above in a Technical Subject
Skills, training or special knowledge -
Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
