Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Advisor, External Communications, Canada.
In this role, you will be part of our global network of external communications experts. You will work in a dynamic, collaborative, and transformative environment to support your peers in delivering integrated marketing and communications plans that reflect our global business objectives.
As a member of our global external communications center of excellence, you will be reporting to the Senior Manager, External Communications based in Canada. Your rigor and versatility will shine through in writing communications in both French and English, leveraging traditional and digital channels. Your strategic thinking will contribute to developing and executing external communications strategies, including building proactive and reactive media relations to promote AtkinsRéalis' achievements in Canada. Drawing on your issues-management experience, you will advise business units so they can successfully deliver their projects and mitigate reputational risks. You will support and collaborate with colleagues around the world, sharpening your knowledge and skills while forming valuable relationships.
The successful candidate will have strong adaptability and the ability to learn from every situation. Their greatest strength will be the ability to anticipate and understand stakeholder and client needs and propose concrete actions that deliver measurable results. This position is ideal for a creative, agile, task-oriented individual who knows how to build relationships, enjoys learning from others, and contributes with purpose. This person must have excellent oral and written communication skills and feel comfortable engaging with a wide range of internal stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

Your role
- Work collaboratively as part of a global team of external and internal communicators and marketeers working on both regional and global projects where required.
- Draft, revise, edit and produce a variety of communication tools intended for various external audiences (e.g. key messages, press releases, social media posts, speeches and remarks, etc.).
- Identify opportunities to leverage AtkinsRéalis' various stakeholders in the media across Canada.
- Provide advice regarding positioning and speaking engagements, with a proactive and multichannel approach.
- Ability to use corporate reporting mechanisms and contribute to regular reporting on the impact of external communications.
- Ensure that practices, procedures, methodologies and tools are used effectively so that the objectives set out in the business plan are attained.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, literature, marketing, or a related field.
- At least 6 to 9 years of relevant experience, preferably in a large multinational organization or a global public relations consulting agency.
- Experience providing guidance on best practices in external communications.
- Demonstrated experience in issues management.
- Demonstrated ability to think in a multi-channel approach.
- Proven ability to explain complex subjects in simple language for multiple audiences.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work with the media and a strong understanding of the international media landscape.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills, with a proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to use AI tools such as Copilot in a corporate environment.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Two writing samples must be submitted with the application.
