Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)
In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.

The Lean Challenge is a dynamic initiative focused on developing future talent through hands on experience in continuous improvement across key operational areas.
Through innovation, teamwork, and a continuous improvement mindset, students will contribute to meaningful initiatives while gaining practical experience that drives long-term value for the organization. This program is designed to inspire problem ‑ solvers, develop critical skills, and support the company's journey toward greater productivity, agility, and operational excellence.

This program is designed to inspire problem ‑ solvers, develop critical skills, and support the company's journey toward greater productivity, agility, and operational excellence.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Be part of a continuous improvement project within the plant, focused on process optimization, waste reduction, or operational performance enhancement.
- Analyze production data (cycle times, scrap, OEE, downtime) to identify improvement opportunities.
- Apply continuous improvement tools such as 5S, root cause analysis, and process standardization.
- Implement and follow up on action plans in coordination with operations teams.
- Deliver weekly project progress presentations to plant leadership and a final presentation with quantified results.
Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Administration or a related field (full availability during summer time)
- Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.
- Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Be able to demonstrate public speaking skills in English.
- Power BI, IA & Microsoft Office.
