Function Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Carousel‑Tensioner Operator to join a cable laying vessel operating offshore. The selected candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the carousel, tensioners, and related deck equipment used during cable loading, laying, and installation activities. This role requires strong technical understanding, situational awareness, and close collaboration with the deck & bridge teams to ensure cable handling operations run smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor carousels, tensioners, and other cable-handling equipment during loading, laying, and installation operations.
• Ensure safe handling of power cables in accordance with project procedures and deck equipment operational limits.
• Coordinate with the Deck Supervisor, Cable Engineer, and Bridge Team during cable deployment.
• Conduct pre‑operation checks, routine inspections, and ensure equipment is functioning within safe parameters.
• Report any equipment issues, irregularities, or safety risks immediately to the relevant supervisor.
• Ensure full compliance with safety procedures, toolbox talks, and permit-to-work requirements.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Medical
• Experience on on Cable Laying Vessels.
• HUET+ CA-EBS.
• US B1 Visa with wind annotation.
• Full GWO (5 modules).
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
