Job Description

Overview

The Quality Assurance Professional - Cause Analyst is a key member of the QA organization, responsible for performing high-quality cause investigations in support of the Corrective Action Program. Under the direct supervision of the Director, QA - Management Assessments & TPO, the Cause Analyst will systematically assess issues, determine causes, and recommend effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence of conditions adverse to quality.

This role is critical in supporting continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across Candu Energy.

Your role

  • Perform structured cause investigations into Problems, Events, or Conditions Adverse to Quality using approved methodologies and tools.
  • Apply systematic analytical techniques to identify Causal Factors, Apparent Causes, and Root Causes as part of Apparent Cause Analysis (ACA) and Root Cause Analyses (RCA).
  • Conduct detailed assessments to determine the underlying technical, programmatic, or human-performance contributors.
  • Recommend effective Corrective Actions to prevent recurrence or to mitigate escalation of identified issues.
  • Prepare and deliver investigation reports and present results to the Corrective Action Review Board (CARB).
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, facilitate interviews, and ensure accurate communication throughout the investigation process.
  • Perform Effectiveness Reviews to validate whether implemented corrective actions achieved the intended results.
  • Support continuous improvement within the QA program through analysis, trending insights, and feedback.


About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related discipline, with experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid knowledge of nuclear QA standards, including CSA N286-12, CSA N285.0, CSA N299, ISO 9001, and ASME Codes.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting cause investigations using recognized analytical tools such as:
    • Event and Causal Factor Charting
    • Fault Tree Analysis
    • Ishikawa / Fishbone Analysis
    • Five Whys
    • Other systematic problem-solving methodologies
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio).
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and maintain high standards of accuracy and objectivity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and quality-related information to diverse audiences.
