As the Additive CAD Engineer at our West Chester, Ohio site, you will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of 3D models and support structures for additive manufacturing processes. You will utilize advanced CAD tools and engineering principles to create and validate designs that meet production requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with program needs, focusing on production quality, standardization, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency. Additionally, you will contribute to advancing additive technology through innovative design solutions and continuous improvement.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Execute CAD2CAM additive producibility reviews of conceptual or proposed designs and provide feedback to design engineering
- Develop additive build models and support structures on complex designs leveraging existing design practices and team best practices
- Perform model compensations independently, review with mentor and cross functional teams, and effectively problem solve potential compensation issues with appropriate stakeholders
- Generate additive build layouts on existing technology while providing recommendations based on best practices and lessons learned
- Perform 1-over-1 CAD (nominal file, build file, and/or layout file) reviews to ensure safety and quality requirements are met
- Execute, identify, and recommend existing CAD tool or checklist improvements related to producibility, productivity, and/or build readiness with team
- Perform additive build file readiness for new and low-rate production applications
- Create CAD work instructions leveraging best practices for new and existing technology
- Own CAD focal responsibilities for low to medium complexity additive hardware leveraging existing technology
- Support Producibility Reviews to provide technical details related to the part's design, support structure, layout, and/or build stability risks
- Create shop specific drawings (platforms or recoater blades) as required
- Clearly communicate to direct leadership regarding Problem Solving and/or Tech milestones (TRL, MRL, IPT Reviews) and escalates concerns when needed
- Execute strategic improvement projects tied to site level KPIs
- Support root cause investigations leveraging FLIGHT DECK fundamentals for any DMLM process or manufacturing failures
- Contribute to new processes and procedures for team
- Participate in shop Genba walks for process and technology development leveraging technician feedback from all post processing steps throughout CAD model and/or layout maturity
- Interface with a cross functional team to ensure business outcomes around safety, quality, delivery, and cost are achieved.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of additive manufacturing experience )

- Experience documenting, planning, and executing programs
