Job Description:

The Supply Planner develops short- and long‑term plans at the item/location level to manage stock movements across the distribution network, ensuring customer service and operational targets are met. This role provides analytical support to the planning process and ensures accurate information flow to business partners through proper use of planning systems. Flexibility, adaptability, and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

The planner is responsible for creating feasible supply and replenishment plans that improve stock availability while minimizing obsolescence. The role oversees the full planning lifecycle for assigned SKUs, ensuring the right products are available at the right time and place to meet demand and service expectations.

This position is empowered to make decisions to balance or resolve supply constraints by considering supply capability, lead times, service requirements, and working capital limitations-often in uncertain or fast‑changing demand situations. These decisions are critical in maintaining operational continuity and supporting the company's performance goals.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Execution

  • Develop short- and long-term distribution and replenishment plans for finished goods and raw materials, ensuring customer demand is met while optimizing service levels, inventory days, and days of cover.
  • Consolidate monthly forecasts into forward‑looking procurement and production plans, with specific focus on IFOT, inventory metrics, and minimizing slow-moving/obsolete stock (SLOB).
  • Create, maintain, and adjust supply schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods. Monitor sales performance, stock levels, and supply risks, adjusting plans as needed.

S&OP / S&OE and System Management

  • Participate actively in S&OP and S&OE forums, serving as plant coordinator.
  • Ensure accurate SKU setup for finished goods, raw materials, and packaging in plant systems.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date planning parameters and master data in JDE and other planning tools.

Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare and analyze data related to volumes, costs, margins, and capacities to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support monthly material forecasting and communicate effectively with partners to maintain supply continuity.
  • Contribute to root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to address shortages or supply disruptions.
  • Assist in purchase and sales account settlements and support change management activities and NPIs across the supply chain.

Governance & Compliance

  • Model BP's Code of Conduct and ensure alignment with quality and compliance standards.
  • Support cost‑minimization efforts and contribute to risk reporting during supply reviews.
  • Promote efficient supply chain management aligned with organizational processes and objectives.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Statistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Significant experience in lubricants, CPG, or chemical industries preferred.
  • Strong functional and leadership capability in demand and supply planning.
  • Fluent English; additional proficiency in Chinese or Japanese (read, write, speak) is required for market support.

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in supply planning or similar roles.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to partner across functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify improvement opportunities and act decisively.
  • Proven experience managing deadlines and navigating challenging situations effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Hands-on experience with supply planning processes, DRP, and MRP.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and planning methodologies.

Skills & Competencies

  • Mastery: Supply Planning / Planning Management.
  • Skilled: Demand Control, Communication, Partnership & Teamwork, Business Awareness.
  • Technical: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint; experience with ERP systems such as SAP and Kinaxis.
