Wood is currently sourcing for an Operations Manager to join our local team in Angola, at this stage it is an "Expression of Interest" from interested candidates.
The Operations Manager will have significant operational experience and be responsible for the operation of the Angolan business area with experience across multiple clients, services or locations with the ability to work independently on most elements of the role.
Provide operational management; accountable for the people agenda, growth, development and delivery performance in assigned area, play a key role in developing the strategy and supporting the delivery of the local business plan.
Location: Luanda, Angola, West Africa
Rotation Work Pattern: Residential or rotational TBC
Duration: Initially 6 months

The Operations Manager will have significant operational experience and be responsible for the operation of the Angolan business area with experience across multiple clients, services or locations with the ability to work independently on most elements of the role.
Provides operational management; accountable for the people agenda, growth, development and delivery performance in assigned area, play a key role in developing the strategy and supporting the delivery of the local business plan.
Take a leadership role and influence in the delivery of HSSEA, technical and financial performance, achieving monthly and annual targets, demonstrating clear safety and ethical leadership and embedding company values. Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.
Directs and leads operational delivery and support team(s) to deliver services to customers, ensuring Wood is working to the highest possible standards of integrity, safety, quality and operational excellence. Develop solutions to strategic, contractual, commercial, operational and personnel related challenges which impact on customer service and performance.
Manages ongoing business, provide support for budget setting and delivery, contracts, capacity and resource management, and capability management.
A key objective of the role is to support nationalisation; promoting and providing development programmes for national personnel thus aligning with mandatory national to expat ratio.
Management and oversight of key position succession planning including own position with career development plans maintained for all direct reports.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Operational Delivery
- Provides direction to operational delivery team(s) in order to meet business plan goal and contract metrics
- Ensures robust business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place
- Manages day-today employee relations, staff activities and operational Issues
- With direction and within set parameters, establishes annual business goals and strategies and prepares business plan for assigned location
- Support Operations Management team to deliver Profit & Loss targets associated with people, commercial and financial accountability including people agenda, revenue delivery, margin and overhead management, budget and forecast determination and attainment, risk and opportunity reviews, cost controls, accounts payable/billing and cash collection
- Assisting the leadership and development of HSSEA matters across assigned area: ensure HSSEA values are delivered and adhered to at all times, proactively leading and demonstrating safety behavioural values. Lead and focus the team to attain all HSE plans, supporting continuous improvement and ensuring legislative compliance.

- Ensures financial, safety, and quality controls and compliance to company policies.
- Maintain operational integrity and excellence, ensuring robust adherence to governance framework, subcontractor management process, and performance reporting.
- Work with leadership and peers to improve delivery performance and maximise delivery opportunities throughout wider business where required.
- People Delivery
- May lead and/or execute the implementation of programmes across the employee life cycle.
- Drives robust people development and performance management throughout the business area, to build and retain skills needed to deliver the operational business in the short to medium term.
- Promotes the talent management process within business area and understands the benefits of such process.
- Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of P&O metrics and robust analysis and recommendations in support of business decisions.

Business Growth - Deliver growth in the areas of responsibility through close collaboration with Business Development.
- Assist with developing and delivering a robust business plan, whilst driving and supporting corporate initiatives, ensuring company values are at the core of all activities.
- Expands the company's business in the area served, directs local business development programs, proactively identifies new opportunities and supports / leads bid and tender and transition activity as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Degree qualification in relevant background with significant experience in a operational delivery preferred.

- Track record of successful operational delivery within relevant industry sector
