In which organization will you work as a Senior Business Manager - Building Architect?

We are looking, on behalf of one of our clients in the energy sector, for a Senior Business Manager - Building Architect, who will be based in Nanterre.

Senior Business Manager - Building Architect: What will your missions and responsibilities be?

Scope of the assignment

• Act as Business Manager responsible for analyzing technical and regulatory constraints.
• Draft basic design data and technical specifications.
• Define and establish the conceptual design principles for the project.
• Collect and analyze data from other technical disciplines.
• Coordinate architectural, structural and HVAC studies, as well as secondary work packages.
• Prepare cost estimates (quantities take-off, engineering hours, etc.).
• Validate drawings produced by engineering offices or study subcontractors.

Team Leadership & Project Management

• Ensure the proper execution and technical quality of building discipline deliverables across all assigned projects, during design and/or construction phases.
• Lead, supervise and coordinate a team of structural engineers, architects and building designers (internal and external).
• Organize workloads, assign tasks and monitor progress to meet project deadlines and objectives.
• Act as the main interface with the Client for all matters related to the building discipline.
• Maintain regular communication with Project Management and the CSA Department Manager regarding progress, quality and resource needs.

Technical Coordination & Design Supervision

• Organize and validate the issuance of structural drawings, architectural documentation, standards and structural calculation notes.
• Prepare architectural specifications and the Basis of Design.
• Supervise and monitor all building 3D modeling activities.
• Oversee Building Material Take-Off activities.
• For EPC phase projects: manage the tendering process for building subcontractors.
• Review drawings and documents issued by subcontractors and construction companies during EPC phases.
• Ensure coordination with other disciplines including:
  
  • Electrical
  • HVAC
  • HSE / Safety
  • Instrumentation
  • Piping
  • Underground networks
• Monitor and ensure the quality and compliance of studies delivered by the building team.

Project Execution & Management

• Ensure compliance with project budgets (engineering hours), schedules and milestones.
• Participate in project reviews, risk analyses, technical audits and coordination meetings.
• Support project management teams with reporting, planning and design follow-up.
• Maintain regular communication with project teams and the Building/Civil Manager regarding progress, quality and resource needs.

What profile and skills are required for this Senior Business Manager - Building Architect role?

Strong experience in the building discipline

• Demonstrated technical expertise in building engineering.
• Strong knowledge of industrial installations and construction projects (PRO and EXE phases).
• Understanding of task sequencing and project workflows.
• Ability to manage upstream and downstream technical interfaces.

Ability to apply project procedures

• Compliance with document management and circulation procedures.
• Strict application of project execution procedures.
• Ability to work according to project standards, rules and engineering instructions.

Project monitoring

• Continuous monitoring of project evolution and design modifications with prioritization.
• Verification of engineering feasibility with technical trades and review of their drawings.

• Ensure consistency between Civil Engineering drawings and other disciplines and maintain updated master documents with real-time comments.
• Management of open items lists.
• Reporting to the Business Manager.
