Junior Process Automation System (PAS) Engineer

We are looking for a Process Automation System (PAS) Engineer Intern to join our Project Engineering team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineering graduate, student, or early-career professional interested in industrial automation and control systems. The PAS Engineer supports the design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of Emerson's DeltaV control systems, working closely with senior engineers and project teams to deliver automation solutions for process plants.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
• Support the development and configuration of control system applications using Emerson's DeltaV distributed control system (DCS).
• Develop control logic and software configurations according to project specifications and functional requirements.
• Prepare functional design specifications and technical documentation under the guidance of the Lead Engineer.
• Perform internal testing and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) together with project teams and customers.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and customers to ensure the solution meets project objectives and expectations.
• Support commissioning, start-up activities, and system testing at customer sites when required.
• Work closely with senior PAS engineers, gaining hands-on experience through on-the-job training and formal training programs.
• Ensure compliance with company and customer HSEQ standards throughout project execution.

For This Role, You Will Need:
• A Bachelor's degree (or currently completing one) in Automation Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Energy Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Telecommunications, or Computer Engineering.
• Italian mother tongue and good proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Interest in industrial automation, control systems, and software configuration.
• Strong organizational and analytical thinking skills.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and grow within a technical engineering team.
• Availability to travel and work at customer sites when required (primarily after the initial training period).
• Driving license for car.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
• Internship, thesis, or early work experience in industrial automation, PLC, or DCS systems.
• Basic knowledge of control systems, automation software configuration, or process control logic.
• Familiarity with industrial environments such as process plants, manufacturing facilities, or automation projects.
• 1-2 years of experience in automation engineering, software configuration, or commissioning activities.
