PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £60,000 - £95,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Commissioning & Acquisitions Team at BBC Children's identifies and secures the widest range of topquality content from both the UK and internationally to satisfy the needs of our modern, sophisticated youngaudience. We reach our audience via a wide range of platforms including the CBeebies and CBBC channels,iPlayer, mobile and on-line, offering an enormous choice of programming animations like Hey Duggee andJoJo and Gran Gran to dramas like Biff & Chip and Olga da Polga. Uniquely, we also feature a world-classportfolio of children's Factual like Let's Go For a Walk, Numberblocks, Something Special and Andy's Adventures and comedies like Justin's House and Waffle The Wonder Dog, and stand-out family eventprogramming such as the CBeebies Specials, CBeebies Prom, Panto and Shakespeare.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM
- To work closely with the Senior Head of Commissioning and the Commissioning Editor to identify, develop,commission and deliver top quality, original animated content from suppliers both in the UK and around theworld.
- Ensure that the development of ideas meets the needs of our modern audience and that content isappropriate to its target age group and reflects the diverse nature and needs of our audiences
- To be an ambassador for CBeebies and a touch point for the Animation community within rest of UK and globally.
- Being responsible for giving feedback on designated current series in a timely manner whilst maintaining arespectful relationship with indies.
- Strong decision maker with the ability to articulate reasoning behind editorial choices.
- Good sense of the modern commercial, business and co-production environment.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Excellent editorial and creative judgement with an established track record in Children's commissioning orproduction (0-6 years old) with a particular focus on Animation
- Thorough understanding of the audience and wider competitive kids' landscape and current trends.
- Good production knowledge with a proven record of successful programme making across a variety ofanimation styles and genres.
- Experience of a production pipeline from development through to delivery.
- Experience of working with complex co-production partnerships and financing deal structure
- Sound editorial judgment and knowledge of editorial policy and fair trading issues.
